Over the coming week a range of new native plants will be nestled amongst the rock wall at The Canopy.
The Spring planting session will see more than 1,200 new plants being embedded along the rock face of the Rosenthal Avenue wall following the limited success of the seed technique used prior to The Canopy opening in 2020.
A watering system is also being installed to support the growth and success of the plants which have been carefully selected to suit the unique landscape. Some of the plants include: Blue Flax Lily, Common Hop Bush, Blackthorn; Sweet Bursaria, White Kunzea, Yellow Tea Tree, Prickly Tea Tree and Pigface.
Given the challenges in accessing the wall to complete the planting and irrigation, traffic controllers are currently in place to help direct traffic along Rosenthal Avenue.
We'll update this page with progress of the planting and highlight some of the specially selected plants that are forming part of the greener sandstone wall.
